In every 'Jenneration', there's a chosen one
Meet Jennerationz, a Nintendo-focused content creator/streamer and Ninjala Ambassador. She is also a crafter and full-time healthcare worker, but her busy schedule doesn’t stop her from pursuing her passion for video games. Read how Jennerationz started her career as a content creator and what keeps her motivated to continue making content.

How did you start your career as a content creator/streamer and what kind of streams do you do?
My journey began in 2014 when I decided to upload Pokemon videos on YouTube. I was formally under the name, “ThePokeJenn”. I enjoyed making content up until 2015, but experienced burnout for the first time. I realized I wanted to branch out and play other games I enjoyed.
In March 2015, Jennerationz was born! I started to upload several different videos but still played Pokemon. Then I decided to try to stream. It was fun even though I only had one viewer, my fiance. I started to occasionally stream up until 2017. In 2019, I decided I wanted to try again. I achieved Twitch Affiliate in October of 2019 and from then on, I took streaming seriously. I now strictly stream Nintendo games.
What is your favorite GungHo game?
Ninjala! I first saw the game while watching E3 and was super excited! I never got a chance to play the Open Beta but then the game was finally out and I played it.
Ninjala is my favorite game because I enjoy the character customization and the wacky set of weapons we can use. People are very creative and make their own original characters with backstories. The weapons are the most unique set of weapons I’ve ever seen in a game and I love that you can match them with your own unique character.
Do you have any tips for someone who just started playing Ninjala?
To have fun most importantly. Do not worry about being good at the game at first. Enjoy the journey, try on outfits that make you feel good, try the weapons until you find one that makes you comfortable.
How did you become a GungHo America Ambassador and what do you like the most about it?
I applied two times. I got home from work one morning after having a rough shift and when I woke up hours later into the day, I saw an email I thought I’d never see. I knew deep down that I would be a good fit for the program and a great representative for the casual community. What I like most about being an Ambassador is interacting with the community and having a great time.
Do you have any goals as a content creator/GungHo America Ambassador and motivations for streaming?
I’d like to create a judgment free space where we can all interact as a community and have fun playing a game we all love. My goal as a content creator is to create a community where we just play games and provide a place where someone doesn’t feel alone in the gaming space. I would also like to create a stream team where we all support each other in our goals.
My #1 motivation for streaming is that I’m making someone’s day. If I make 1 person smile from my stream/videos, I’m happy and motivated to make more content.
Any advice for someone who wants to become a content creator?
Make content that YOU love. If you love what you do, it will come easy to you.
You do not need expensive equipment to make content. I started out on a cheap laptop, saved up over time, and then treated myself.
Do not compare your journey to others. Everyone has a different path in this space, some take longer to achieve a goal and that’s okay!
