How did you start your career as a content creator and what kind of content do you create?
I started streaming with Final Fantasy XIV in 2015, but I didn't have an audience until I found the TEPPEN community in 2019. On Twitch, I play a variety of games, entertaining viewers with my sassy attitude. Every Monday, I host the EX Podcast, a TEPPEN podcast. On YouTube, I take a more analytical approach to TEPPEN content.
What is your favorite GungHo game and why?
TEPPEN is my favorite GungHo game for the supportive community that's built up around it. The community is so inclusive that all you have to do to get acknowledged is say hello! Like many players, I first learned about TEPPEN through Maximilian. It was my first card game, so at the beginning, I played very little until I had some confidence, but it wasn't long before I was checking out streams.
Do you have any tips for someone who just started playing TEPPEN?
For newer TEPPEN players that want to get better, watch streams! Ask players why they made the plays they did. It's a great way to connect to streamers and learn.
How did you become a GungHo America Ambassador and what do you like the most about it?
I became a GungHo America Ambassador after I started streaming more frequently. I had friends that were also Ambassadors, and it looked like it opened the door for more opportunities to share a passion! I'll never forget when the EX Podcast was the official NA pre-show for TEPPEN Worlds 2020.
What is the EX Podcast and how did it start? What was it like doing the official North American pre-show for the TEPPEN World Championship 2020?
The EX Podcast is a show that I host, along with IowaTheBoat, Christopher D, and JeezRuiz. Every Monday at 8pm ET, we discuss everything TEPPEN: news, events, tournaments, meta, and--at the beginning of each card set--a tier list! It all started when I wanted to make a talk show dedicated to TEPPEN, where every element is represented by one of four members of a team. I went to prominent members of the community that would be confident in sharing their unique perspectives to create effective discourse, and that's the team we have today.
Being the official NA pre-show for Worlds was a huge honor for us! There was some pressure to be insightful and entertaining, but that's a goal we also strive for on each show. Luckily, it didn't take us long to get over those nerves and be our normal, excited selves!
Do you have any goals as a content creator and GungHo America Ambassador?
My main goal is to continue to keep the NA audience talking about TEPPEN. Being an Ambassador means having more opportunities to do it in an official capacity!
As a content creator, I want to be an effective educator. Outside of streaming, I am an English teacher, so I find it fun to make videos that analyze and educate viewers. The more that I stream TEPPEN, the more I compete. I want to become a better competitor.
What are your motivations for creating content?
I love giving others the courage to play, even if they don't intend to be a top player. Self-improvement can be a fun process!
Any advice for someone who wants to become a content creator?
If you're having fun playing the game, others will enjoy watching it. Play what's fun, and you'll find an audience.
