The first entry of the Trails series gets a remake for modern consoles, including a Collector's Edition

REDONDO BEACH, Calif. — December 19, 2024 — Brace yourself for adventure! GungHo Online Entertainment America is thrilled to announce that they will be publishing Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter, the groundbreaking first chapter of Nihon Falcom's acclaimed Trails series, which is set to release in Fall 2025 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam.

Developed by Nihon Falcom, known for the iconic Ys and Trails series, this remake has been reimagined for modern platforms featuring brand-new English, German, and French localizations, enhanced visuals, and refined gameplay mechanics; the rich world of the Liberl Kingdom can now be experienced in full 3D by both longtime fans and newcomers alike. 

In celebration of the remake, there will be Collector’s Editions made by Limited Run Games, which will be presented on a later date. Players in North America and Europe can also opt for the standard physical edition.

Originally released in 2004 for PC and ported to the PSP in 2006, The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is a classic JRPG set in the Liberl Kingdom. The story follows Estelle Bright and her adoptive brother, Joshua, as they begin their journey to become senior bracers. What starts as a simple mission grows into a battle against a mysterious organization threatening their homeland. As they uncover hidden conspiracies, Estelle and Joshua face increasing dangers that test their courage and strengthen their bond.
